Growing up in the 80’s/90’s, the YouTube tutorial vids and full aisle of curly girl products at Target was NOT a thing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It was Pink’s moisturizer and Let’s Jam. Who remembers?? LoL ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Bless my mommy’s heart. She’s Bolivian and this hair was nothing like hers but she reached out to her Black female friends and was able to at least get me the staples listed above. Too bad they forgot to tell her not to use a thin-toothed comb… ouucchhh! LoL ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But quarantine as well as our recent social events have made me that much more dedicated to really finding a routine that’s the healthiest for my natural hair. It’s a gift and should be treated as such!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, I’ve also come to terms that I’m the kind of Black girl who WILL be jumping back and forth between natural and straightened hair. There’s no shame in that, we all have the right to choose what we prefer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ BUT I will really make an effort to always treat it with the utmost care. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Plus, since hubby is out here taking photos in the living room, I gotta make sure my hair is photo ready.
